The curtains have officially closed on WPPI 2026, and what an incredible journey it was! From March 3rd to 5th, Booth No. 213 at The Rio in Las Vegas transformed into a bustling hub of creativity, gear talk, and pure photography passion. To everyone who stopped by the Viltrox booth to connect, exchange ideas, and get hands-on with our latest innovations—thank you for making this event a massive success!

Pushing Optical Boundaries: The AF 16mm F1.8 L and Z2 Flash

The energy in Nashville was undeniable. Our goal for this year’s show was simple: get the gear out of the display cases and into your hands. We wanted to create a space where conversation flowed as easily as the creativity.

 

From the moment the doors opened, we were blown away by the turnout. Whether you came to talk specs on the new LAB series, discuss videography setups, or just say hello to the team, thank you. You made the start of our year truly special.

The Workshops

At Viltrox, we are constantly striving to elevate your creative toolkit, and WPPI was the perfect stage to showcase our expanding ecosystem. Attendees had the chance to explore the premium optical performance of our LAB and Pro Series, the reimagined essentials of the EVO Series, and the lightweight versatility of our Air Series.

The Professional's Choice: The 85mm F1.4 Pro

Given that WPPI is the premier gathering for the wedding and portrait industry, it was no surprise that our 85mm F1.4 Pro lens was a massive hit on the show floor. Professional wedding photographers and passionate portrait enthusiasts alike flocked to experience its stunning bokeh, rapid autofocus, and exceptional subject isolation. For capturing intimate wedding moments and high-end portraits, it remains a top-tier choice that meets the rigorous demands of professional workflows.

A Historic Debut: The AF 16mm F1.8 L and Z2 Flash

However, the undeniable stars of the show were our newest releases. Marking a major milestone for the brand, we showcased the all-new AF 16mm F1.8 L—our very first L-mount lens and our inaugural release since officially joining the L-Mount Alliance. This groundbreaking debut drew major crowds, with photographers praising its breathtaking edge-to-edge sharpness and wide-angle versatility—an absolute must-have for capturing grand wedding venues and environmental portraits. Paired alongside it was the debut of the Viltrox Z2 Flash, which quickly impressed attendees with its reliable power output, rapid recycle times, and intuitive controls. Together, they proved to be the ultimate setup for dynamic event spaces and high-end portrait sessions.

A Glimpse into the Future: The Anticipated EVO Series

We also gave attendees an exciting look into the future of our reimagined essentials: the highly anticipated EVO Series, featuring the 35mm F1.8 and 55mm F1.8 for FE and Z mounts. The on-site feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Photographers were especially impressed by how the EVO lineup perfectly balances a lightweight footprint with professional-grade handling. Offering a rich array of customizable buttons and switches, the EVO series truly redefines cost-effectiveness without compromising on user experience or optical quality.

Live Inspiration: Portrait Masterclasses with Francisco & Niah

Beyond the gear, the heart of our exhibition was the incredible community and the shared pursuit of visual storytelling. We were deeply honored to welcome two phenomenal guest instructors to our booth: 

  • Francisco Joel Hernandez (@fjhphoto): A renowned professional photographer, Viltrox ambassador, and content creator celebrated for his expressive portraits and refined visual storytelling. In his session, "Portrait Rules & When to Break Them," Francisco guided the audience on how to push creative boundaries while maintaining striking, professional results.
  • Niah Aldrich (@niahrosephoto): A master of cinematic lighting and mood, Niah led an incredibly insightful session titled "Depth & Drama: Building Impact with Color and Composition." She shared her real-world workflow for creating visually arresting portraits that truly stand out in a competitive market.
