Fantastic Lens for the money!

The Viltrox AF 35mm f/1.7 is a solid budget-friendly prime lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras. It’s lightweight and compact, making it great for everyday shooting, and the autofocus is fast and quiet. Wide open at f/1.7, it delivers sharp images. There’s minimal distortion or color fringing, which is impressive at this price point. While it lacks an aperture ring and weather sealing, the build quality is decent, and it’s a great value for anyone looking for an affordable, fast prime lens. Will definitely recommend and be buying other lenses.

Excelente Objetivo para Sony E-Mount

El Viltrox AF 35mm F1.7 para montura Sony E es una opción atractiva para quienes buscan una lente económica con buen desempeño óptico. Su apertura F1.7 permite capturar imágenes con buen desenfoque de fondo y rendimiento en baja luz, ideal para retratos y fotografía callejera. En términos de construcción, ofrece un diseño compacto y liviano, lo que lo hace fácil de transportar. El enfoque automático es funcional, aunque no tan rápido ni silencioso como opciones de gama alta. En cuanto a nitidez, es aceptable en el centro, pero puede perder algo de definición en los bordes a máxima apertura.
En resumen, es una lente con excelente relación calidad-precio, perfecta para quienes buscan un 35mm luminoso y accesible sin sacrificar demasiado en calidad de imagen.

So Sharp! But needs few improvements

The images are so sharp, it focuses fast, and a nice build quality considering it is made of plastic. However, the glare is really significant especially when facing any light source. I have also experienced one occurrence of a hiccup where the autofocus was not working but a quick restart of the camera fixed it. I hope it can be fixed with a software update. Overall, I'm really pleased and had a good time using the lens. It's light, small, and really fun to use. Good job Viltrox!

Sharp, Luminous and affordable!

I've been enjoying this lense so much. The results are great, the lense is very compact and light, and the price is unbeatable!

Probably the best choice for this price

Compared to the almost silent sony 18-135 this AF motor is a bit louder in AF-S mode and noticeably louder in continuous mode, especially when switching from really close to really far objects (yet still quieter than any af lens for the previous DSLR that I had), but the face tracking on a6400 body is fast and confident enough to be usable for videos (and I don't use built-in microphone anyway). I have yet to test the image quality, but at first glance it's perfect and I've picked this lens because of Arthur R's video review which showed that it's better than sony's native 35mm/1.8
Probably the only downside is that I had to wait for it for 4 weeks since I ordered it on Dec. 30 and expected it to be shipped from Europe, but it came from China
