A great lens at a great price

When looking for a wide angle lens for Fujifilm, Viltrox always tops the reviews. The Fujifilm lens are either slower apertures, not as wide or expensive. The Viltrox is very well built and feels as good, if not better than a Fujifilm lens. The aperture ring feels great. Even though the lens is quite large, it is well balanced on the Fuji X-T body. Optically it is fantastic, even wide open and the silent autofocus is also great for photography. The 1.4 aperture is great for low light photography. Highly recommended.

Great Lens, great price but terrible lens hood

This lens is sharp, and fast to focus. It is an excellent lens for the money but it comes with a flaw you should be aware of. The lens hood is poorly made. For landscape photographers or any photographer that works outdoors, a lens hood is critical. The interior section of the supplied lens hood is held in place by 4 microscopic screws that have a tendency to come loose and become lost. they are so small you might not even notice they have fallen out until it is too late. In the space of a month of heavy use, I lost 3 of the 4 screws. I contacted Viltrox but apparently you cannot buy a replacement hood for this lens. They only make enough to ship one with the lens you bought. After reading online all the complaints on lens forums about this lens hood I would be surprised if no one else has ever attempted to buy a replacement hood and I'm even more surprised that after Viltrox released metal lens hoods for the other lenses in the X Mount line-up that you still cannot get a replacement lens hood for the 13mm f1.4.
